Robert D. Buffington, O.D., F.A.A.O
  • Dr. Buffington graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at Davis in 1969. Attended Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove Oregon specializing in contact lenses, graduating in 1973. While at Pacific University, he and Dr. Lilley conducted the first University level research project on Orthokeratology.
  • Started private practice in Sacramento in 1973. Dr. Lilley joined the practice in 1980. After 10 years of experiments and research, Drs.Buffington and Lilley were granted United States Patent #3,722,143 for their innovative process of making oxygen gas permeable contact lenses.
  • Developed unique contact lens designs for patients with Keratoconus and Corneal Transplants.
  • Participated in a number of FDA studies. Most recently completing an 8 week study, with over 40 subjects, for a second generation allergy eye drop.
  • Completed an 18 month FDA study of Menicon Z for 30 day continious wear in 2001-2002. This was approved in 2003 and is currently the only oxygen permeable material apporved for 30 day continious wear.
  • Has published in numerious professional journals including the Review of Optometry, Optometric Management, Contact Lens Spectrum and others.
  • Interviewed both locally and nationally on TV and radio. Was recently featured on a PBS special on new contact lens technology currently being aired around the globe.
Joseph Y. Lilley, O.D.
  • Dr. Lilley graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree, from the University of Oregon, Eugene in 1971. Attended Pacific College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon specializing in contact lenses, graduating in 1975.
  • With Dr. Buffington, conducted the first University level research project on Orthokeratology.
  • Joined Dr. Buffington's practice in Sacramento in 1980.
  • After 10 years of experiments and research, Drs.Buffington and Lilley were granted United States Patent #3,722,143 for their innovative process of making oxygen gas permeable contact lenses.
Brady Rembleski, O.D..
  • Dr. Rembleski graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science, Biology degree from Harding University, Searcy, Akansas. Attended Southern California College of Optometry, graduating in 2002. In his senior year he had clinical rotations at the Optometric Center of Fullerton/Eye Care Clinic, Fresno VA Hospital, the Indian Health Services Clinic in Nome, Alaska and finally the VA Outpatient Clinic in Los Angles,
  • Class President of the SCCO fourth year class of 2002.
  • Member of the American Studies Institute Honor Society and Alpha Chi National College Honor Scholarship Society.
  • Won the prestigious Julius F. Neumueller award in optics, presented by the American Academy of Optometry for his contact lens research in 2002.
  • Dr. Rembleski was one of the principal investigators for the FDA clinical trials of a new second generation of prescription allergy eye drops.
